Education: Jet Bussemaker (PvdA), 51. Dean of Amsterdam’s hbo college and junior health minister in the Balkenende IV cabinet. Wiil have to deal with inevitable student protests about grants.

Home affairs: Ronald Plasterk (PvdA), 54. A successful genetic scientist prior to becoming education minister in the Balkenende IV cabinet. As an MP, focused on finance. Known for his hats.

Foreign trade and aid: Lilianne Ploumen (PvdA), 51. Chairman of the PvdA between 2007 and 2011.     Worked for Mama Cash, Foster Parents Plan and other international aid programmes.

Economic affairs: Henk Kamp (VVD), 60. Was environment and defence minister in previous administrations and social affairs minister in Rutte I. Second oldest minister

Foreign affairs: Frans Timmermans (PvdA), 51. Former diplomat and civil servant. Was junior foreign minister in Balekenden IV cabinet.
